The story behind Dubliners
Dubliners is an Irish pub just off Puerta del Sol, in a historic Madrid premises that still shows its original character.
A piece of Madrid history
Before Dubliners, the premises were home to the historic Barragán tailor shop, established in 1885. Part of the original structure and decoration remains today, including its distinctive painted ceiling.
Where suits were once made, stories are now shared.
Under that same ceiling you’ll now find Madrid locals, travellers and international students — an Irish pub just off Puerta del Sol.
The premises
From the street you will spot the green Dubliners neon on Calle de Espoz y Mina, a couple of minutes from Puerta del Sol. Inside, the room keeps the bones of the old tailor shop: the painted ceiling overhead is the same one Barragán’s customers looked up at. We have changed what happens under it, not the ceiling itself.
Dubliners today

Sport the Irish-pub way
Our screens carry the sport that brings our crowd in. On NFL Sundays that means the NFL in Madrid, listed game by game once confirmed. In November it means Ireland rugby Tests, and through the year football, NBA, F1 and more. Kick-off times are always in Madrid time on What’s On, and the sports bar page explains how the screens work.
Open from midday
We open every day from 12:00, until 02:00 Sunday to Thursday and 02:30 on Friday and Saturday — early enough for a daytime drink near Sol and late enough for evening kick-offs. Hours and map: Visit.
